What You Can Learn About Peptic Ulcer

An End Has Come To Peptic Ulcer

Peptic ulcers are holes in the protective lining of the upper part of the small intestine or the stomach that come into contact with stomach acids and enzymes.

Do you know that:

* If you have any form of stomach ulcer, it is highly likely that you are infected with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)

* Overuse of over-the-counter painkillers, heavy alcohol use, psychological stress and smoking may promote the development of ulcers or worsen it

* Stomach ulcers are more likely to develop in older people who take pain medications frequently or in people who take medications for osteoarthritis

Symptoms include burning stomach pain, feeling of fullness, bloating or belching, fatty food intolerance, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, dark blood in stools, trouble breathing, feeling faint, unexplained weight loss, appetite changes, etc.

Untreated ulcers can lead to complications such as internal bleeding, peritonitis or blockage in the digestive tract.

Don’t leave ulcers untreated!
